Oxford House Glen Haven in Greensboro, North Carolina

About Oxford House Glen Haven

Oxford House Glen Haven is a recovery residence offering peer-operated sober living in Greensboro, NC. They provide a transitional, substance-free home for men in recovery. As part of the nationwide Oxford House network, this home operates on a proven model of democratic living.

You’ll receive structured support that focuses on accountability and community reintegration. This peer-led environment helps residents build a stable foundation for lasting sobriety while practicing essential life skills.

Democratic Sober Living

The self-run, communal living environment accommodates up to six residents who are committed to maintaining sobriety.

The house is democratically governed, with residents voting on all major decisions and electing fellow members to leadership roles for six-month terms, fostering personal responsibility and peer accountability.

The model’s three fundamental rules require residents to remain abstinent from drugs and alcohol, contribute financially to the household, and avoid disruptive behavior. Violations lead to expulsion to protect the community’s safety and recovery focus.

Peer Support and Financial Model

The program offers a non-clinical, peer-based support system centered on communal living and mutual accountability, rather than formal therapy or medical treatment.

Operating without staff or insurance, the house is financially self-supported through equal weekly or monthly contributions from all residents, which cover rent, utilities and household expenses.
