Oxford House Brookfield in Hampton, Virginia
About Oxford House Brookfield
Oxford House Brookfield is a sober living home in Hampton, Virginia offering peer run sober housing in a drug free and alcohol free environment. This recovery residence serves as a transitional living program for men, emphasizing self support and accountability as its flagship service. Its mission is to help residents rebuild through shared responsibility, community governance and sustained sobriety, laying a foundation for lasting recovery.
Peer Run Sober Housing for Men
Oxford House Brookfield’s signature program is its peer run sober living residence for up to 14 men, where there is no external clinical staff and no formal therapy provided on site. The house operates on democratic principles so residents share equal responsibility for paying household expenses, doing chores and leading governance through elected officers. Sobriety is strictly enforced and any use of drugs or alcohol results in immediate expulsion.
Unlimited Sober Living
People may stay as long as they continue to comply with house rules and engage in recovery, so there’s not a maximum time frame.
In the sober living program, daily life centers on mutual accountability and peer support, with regular house meetings for decision making and household management. While there are no structured clinical modalities like CBT or DBT onsite, residents are expected to pursue external supports such as 12 step meetings or outpatient therapy, reinforcing recovery habits.
Because this is not a clinical facility, Brookfield does not accept insurance. Residents pay equal shared expenses covering rent, utilities, and basic household costs, so the amount is the same for everyone living in the house.
