Kinard Manor in Greenwood, South Carolina

About Kinard Manor

Kinard Manor Recovery was a sober living residence for women in Greenwood, South Carolina, offering structured transitional housing for those continuing their recovery from substance use disorders. Managed by Lutheran Services Carolinas, this faith inspired program provided a supportive, non clinical environment where residents build stability through peer accountability, mentoring, and daily structure.

Kinard Manor welcomed women who supported medication assisted treatment (MAT), making it one of the few MAT friendly recovery residences in the state. While Lutheran Services Carolinas is still operating, this particular recovery residence has closed.

A Recovery Home for Women

Kinard Manor served adult women who were medically stable and had maintained at least 28 days of sobriety. With an average stay of 8 to 12 months, residents engaged in a daily recovery plan that included work or school (approximately 30 hours per week), group meetings and community service.

Supportive services included mentoring, goal setting, financial planning, employment assistance, transportation, and peer counseling. A live-in house manager provided guidance and oversight, helping residents navigate the physical, social and emotional aspects of long term recovery.

Faith Centered Recovery

Operated by Lutheran Services Carlinas, this recovery home made Christian faith a central part of recovery. They aimed to support residents’ spiritual growth while also helping them with practical life skills and community support along their recovery journeys.

Like most sober living homes, this was a private pay facility where residents would pay weekly fees cover housing, utilities, and programming.
