Help Is on the Way Transitional in Los Angeles, California
About Help Is on the Way Transitional
Help Is on the Way Transitional in Los Angeles, California was an addiction recovery organization offering sober living, mental health housing, and transitional living for adults facing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental illness, and homelessness. Unfortunately they are now closed.
Operating 24 hour intake and phone access, the facility provided a structured community environment for residents to regain functionality and rebuild lives. Combining evidence based peer support, life skills training, and sober group living, the mission emphasized long term recovery, personal growth, and cultural inclusivity.
Providing Stability for Addiction Recovery
Clients often began with assessment and admission into sober living or mental health housing, especially for those transitioning from homelessness or unstable environments. Transitional living served as a bridge toward more independent living arrangements.
While staying in their sober living home, clients would participate in group counseling, peer support, and structured daily routines. I especially like that they incorporated life skills education, including job seeking, food preparation, and household responsibility, along with a strictly drug free and alcohol free environment.
Funding from Social Security and Other Sources
This sober living center was in the Crenshaw district of LA, within South Los Angeles and accessible to public transit and community services. They served adult men and women.
The monthly cost here was $675. Self pay clients were welcome and they also accepted SSI, SSDI, GR and FSP funding. You’d live in a secure gated facility and receive three meals daily in co-ed housing with community chores and responsibilities.
